The idea of doing things yourself has always been a generational legacy and this dates back to the first humans that walked the face of the earth. Archaeological discoveries has unearthed tools that where made for various purposes by our ancestors. Their handy works kept improving subsequently and has continued on till today. There has been a perception that some how millennials where not into doing things themselves because it is now convenient to order stuff online or go to the mall to pickup anything you want. The most common one is that they are sitting home playing video game. Depending on how you look at it every generation has always done things differently but the underlying concept remains the same. Millennials have a different way of doing things and in an attempt to preserve the old glory we end up creating a false perception. Regardless of how we want to look at it every generation had different resources to work with and the millennial generation is also working with the resources they have.Traveling around the world will open your eyes to how much of the DIY attitude that young people around the world have. Every geographic region has different needs and demands and young people around the world are living up to the challenge. The only reason we have a hard time seeing that reality is because we do not know and quite frankly we just do not care to find out about whats out there.
